NSC Enhances Offering with Sun Microsystems’ Thin Client Solutions

Announcement posted by NSC Group Pty Ltd 13 Aug 2008

Sun Microsystems has today announced a strategic alliance with NSC Enterprise Solutions Pty Ltd in which NSC will add Sun’s range of thin clients to its converged communications solution portfolio.

“This is an exciting alliance which will see NSC deliver an end to end Sun solution to its customers”, said Sam Srinivasan, Director Partner Sales, Sun Microsystems Australia and New Zealand. “NSC has outstanding credentials in delivering market-leading communications solutions to the enterprise and contact centre markets.  Working with NSC to deliver Sun’s solution to these markets was an easy choice.”

“With almost 20 years in the market and a national reach, NSC has a comprehensive understanding of the business and technology issues faced by Australian organisations.  In addition, NSC has made a significant investment in this new initiative including hiring additional staff and technical and sales training of existing employees.”

“We are pleased to add Sun’s world-class thin client technology to our product offering,” said Craig Neil, Managing Director, NSC Group. “Many of our customers are already familiar with Sun as the technology base for their Avaya communications solutions.”

“However, with the increased focus on virtualisation, security and ‘green IT’ our customers are looking for end-to-end virtual desktop solutions.  Sun was the logical choice with its SunRay technology.  It delivers everything our customers want – lower power consumption, high security, hot-desking capabilities and reduced operating costs,” he said.

The SunRay solution allows data to be saved directly to the server and not on individual PC’s thereby reducing the risk of data leakage and complexity. NSC will offer customers the SunRay solution as part of either a managed or non-managed service.
