20-year IT veteran Brenton Smith appointed VP and Area Manager, CA Pacific

CA (NASDAQ: CA) today announced that IT veteran Brenton Smith has been appointed to head up the company’s business in Australia and New Zealand as Vice President and Area Manager, Pacific. Smith last worked for CA as Asia South Area Manager, running operations in Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent after holding the post of Sales VP at CA Australia.

Brenton has already earned a solid track record at CA, particularly in terms of leadership and driving revenue growth. During his 20 years in the IT software industry, he has held a number of senior posts, playing roles in support, sales and general management, covering the ERP, CRM and BI software segments.”

Before beginning his career at CA, Smith was Managing Director of Business Objects Australia, leading the firm through a merger with Crystal Decisions. In another role, he ran the Financial Services Group for Siebel Systems and was Siebel’s Joint Country Manager for six months. He also served as Managing Director to SAP consultancy BrightStar Information Technology Group for three years, during which he orchestrated a merger with another prominent SAP consultancy. He joined BrightStar following a successful career with SAP as Western Australia State Manager.
