3Com Increases Focus on New Zealand with Appointment of Business Development Manager

3Com Corporation, a leading provider of converged network infrastructure solutions, today announced the appointment of John Van Dinther to the position of business development manager for New Zealand.

Based in Wellington, Van Dinther will head up 3Com’s New Zealand operations. In the new role, his focus will be on building 3Com’s customer and partner relationships as well as identifying and responding to new opportunities in the region.

Grant Howe, 3Com country manager for Australia and New Zealand, has identified some very encouraging feedback from the company’s business partner community in the region.  “Since John has joined our team, we have already begun to strengthen our focus in New Zealand. By having someone on the ground, it not only means that we are becoming more productive but that, most importantly, our customers and partners are getting the attention they deserve.”

Van Dinther has joined 3Com in New Zealand after two and a half years with property improvers, realtyRETURNS where he was the director of business design.  In his 23 years in IT, Van Dinther was telecommunications sales manager at Philips New Zealand Ltd where he was a key contributor to the creation of the business plan that guided Philips through this period of significant business opportunity. Prior to Philips, Van Dinther also held roles at Datacom, IT at ICL (now Fujitsu) and Sperry Univac (now Unisys).
