Simms International becomes national distributor for Quark

Announcement posted by Simms International 29 Jan 2009

Renewed Focus on Quality Support for Resellers, End Users

Sydney, 29 January 2008 – Desktop publishing solutions provider Quark has appointed Simms International, a leading Apple distributor and supplier of IT products and services to the retail, reseller, system-integrator, distribution and OEM markets, as a national distributor for the QuarkXPress 8 suite of industry standard page-layout and design software.

The appointment reflects Quark’s commitment to revitalizing its business with greater focus on supporting resellers and end users in the Australian market, with Simms to provide its resellers with sales, marketing, technical support, and logistics expertise to maximize sales opportunities for Quark products.

Quark Regional Business Director Alex Nemeth said the partnership with Simms would allow it to reinvigorate its growing business by providing greater service and support for resellers and customers.

“Quark is very focused on revitalizing our brand, product and business in Australia. We are growing at a global level and starting to kick goals at a local level. We continue to invest in product development and in recent months released and started to ship QuarkXPress 8,” Mr. Nemeth said.

“With the quality product in place to revolutionise publishing again, the question became, ‘How do we provide more service to our resellers and empower, support and reconnect with our customers?’

“We spent a lot of time looking at distributors and Simms quickly emerged as an ideal partner with a lot of synergies in regard to our technologies, product offerings and how we both work.

“The partnership is not only good for the two companies, it is also very beneficial for our resellers.  Our goal is to provide better service and support to our end users and this partnership gives us a great opportunity to achieve that.”

Simms International Managing Director Danny Moore welcomed Quark as a partner whose offerings and target markets complemented the existing Simms’ portfolio, in particular its market-leading Apple distribution business.

“The addition of Quark strengthens the Simms partner line-up. It is a long-established brand with a strong tradition as an innovator in desktop publishing, particularly among the Apple community,” Mr. Moore said.

“Quark has been an industry leader before, and it now has the product, renewed focus and commitment to service and support to be an industry leader again. Simms is motivated to help Quark grow its sales and regain its leadership position in the desktop publishing market.”
