Internet Awards winners wide open for 2005

Announcement posted by Internet Awards 2005 06 Oct 2005

For the first time since its inception, the Internet Awards 2005 finalists announced today span an extraordinary 14 agencies with several first timers for the Awards. Mainstream agencies figure strongly on the finalist this year with Bellamyhayden, George Patterson Partners and Y&R, alongside the mainstay online agencies including MOne and Tequila. South Australian and West Australian agencies have also been well represented in this years Awards entries, with Western Australian agency Market United being named a finalist.
According to Patty Keegan, Chairman of Judges, the judges will have their work cut out for them during the final round of judging which takes place this week.
This year weve seen entries for campaigns delivering or actually over-delivering on key business objectives for a range of clients. One of the highlights has been the number of campaigns that have made it to the Finalists from clients who have used online for the first time, or as a key medium for the first time, said Ms Keegan.
20 finalists have been announced, representing the most innovative, creative and effective online advertising and marketing campaigns in Australia over the last twelve months. These finalists will now be judged by a panel of judges in a roundtable forum this week to identify the best in category and overall Best of Show Award. This years Internet Awards will offer Gold and Silver Stars in each of the five categories, though the judges reserve the right not to award a Gold Star in each category.
The winners will be announced at the Awards ceremony in Sydney on 27 October 2005. A formal ceremony will be followed by an after party.
