FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 29 2025
CollectFest, Australia's first major collectables festival, has secured partnerships with the world's biggest names in collecting, demonstrating the industry's confidence in the Australian market. Industry leaders eBay, Goldin, Whatnot and Topps have confirmed their participation in the groundbreaking festival series launching across Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney in mid-2025.
The timing couldn't be better, as the global sports memorabilia and trading cards market is projected to reach USD $271.2 billion (AUD $439 billion) by 2034. This unprecedented industry support includes eBay, the largest global online marketplace for trading cards and a top destination for collectables, alongside Goldin, the internationally-renowned auction house featured in Netflix's "King of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch," marking their first-ever Australian appearance at CollectFest Sydney. Adding to the excitement, Topps, the premier sports trading card manufacturer, will make its Australian debut at CollectFest Melbourne, while Whatnot, the innovative live-streaming auction platform that recently launched in Australia will also appear.
"Australia is a nation of collectors, with 1 in 3 Aussies embracing the joy of collecting" says Rachel Schmid, Senior Category Manager at eBay Australia. "As a global platform that connects millions of buyers and sellers, eBay enables collectors to get their hands on rare finds, trade their treasures and expand their passions. At CollectFest, we're bringing this to life—visit our stall in Brisbane, Melbourne, or Sydney, and catch our panel on the main stage."
"It's been incredible to play an active role in the evolution of the collecting industry," says Dave Amerman, Head of Revenue & Sports Consignment at Goldin. "We are thrilled to bring our expertise in selling some of the rarest, high-value collectables to CollectFest, where we can connect with Australian collectors and introduce attendees to members of the team behind 'King of Collectibles.'"
Jane Ford, Managing Director of Exhibitions & Events Australia adds, "We're thrilled to pioneer this first-of-its-kind event that brings together Australia's passionate collecting community under one roof. CollectFest represents a milestone in Australia's collecting culture, creating the perfect platform where enthusiasts can connect, trade, and share their passion with the country's most dedicated collectors. As one of Australia's largest consumer exhibition organisers, we recognise the incredible demand for a dedicated collecting event of this scale, and we're excited to deliver an experience that celebrates and unites collectors from every corner of the hobby."
The festival has also garnered strong domestic support, partnering with leading Australian collectables organisations including UNLCKD, the country's innovative collectables subscription service, and the historic Perth Mint, Australia's
longest-running mint and premier precious metals institution, both offering exclusive access and premium opportunities to attendees.
CollectFest will take place:
Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre | July 5-6
Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre | July 26-27
International Convention Centre Sydney | August 23-24
