New management appointment bolsters 3Com’s operation in Australia

3Com Corporation, a leading provider of converged network infrastructure solutions, today announced the appointment of Angela Hughes to the position of Queensland state manager. In this role, Hughes will be responsible for heading up all state operations as well as managing a growing team of eight staff in 3Com’s Brisbane branch.

Hughes will focus on identifying and responding to new opportunities in the state of Queensland whilst maintaining the position of account director for one of 3Com’s largest accounts – the Department of Education, Training and the Arts (DETA).

Grant Howe, 3Com country manager for Australia and New Zealand, believes that Hughes’ extensive 20 years of experience in the Queensland IT market will be a major asset to the company.

He added, “The addition of Angela to our Queensland management team will accelerate our strategy of bringing our current customers more value for their networking investment. She also brings the expertise to help us significantly grow our customer base in Australia.”

Prior to joining 3Com, Hughes spent two years as an account director for Dimension Data where she focussed on assisting in Queensland’s ‘whole of government’ strategy and played a pivotal role in the acquisition of major accounts. Prior to this, Hughes also spent two years as the general manager for Internet services at the University of Queensland and 11 years at AAPT as Queensland state manager.
