Announcement posted by Eden Technology 10 Mar 2004
The directors of Eden Technology today announced their re-purchase of the Eden business from the U.S.-based Space Mark International.
Eden Technology is an Australian software company specialising in IT solutions and related services for defence, security and law enforcement, higher education, utilities and manufacturing organisations.
Eden Technology has now reverted to Australian ownership following its purchase from Space Mark International by a consortium comprising directors and former owners, Katrina Doring and Peter Roberts, and chairman Rick Anstey, co-founder and director of Timsco. Timsco provides seed capital and associated services for new ventures in the information and communication technologies sectors.
"This is the ultimate expression of confidence in our business and Australias software engineering capabilities," said Eden CEO Katrina Doring. "While the business did well and expanded internationally as part of the Space Mark Group, we realised that we would prefer to operate as owners rather than managers. We are well positioned and intend to expand our business further both here in Australia and overseas."
Under the ownership of Space Mark International, Katrina Doring and Peter Roberts continued as Eden Technologys CEO and director for Defence Business Development, respectively. During this period, Eden expanded its sphere of operation, establishing offices in the U.S. and Malaysia.
Eden's client base includes the Royal Australian Navy, the Royal New Zealand Navy, the Royal Malaysian Navy, Boeing Australia, NSW State Water, the University of New South Wales, ADI Ltd, the Australian Federal Police, the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority, and the Therapeutic Goods Association.
SMI will continue to market Edens products in the US.
