Announcement posted by Bench PR 13 Aug 2009
Melbourne, Australia, 13th August 2009 – Kogan Technologies has announced today that it has slashed the price of its Agora Netbook range, making them the first company in Australia to crack the $400 barrier for a 10-inch netbook.*
The Agora Netbook was AU$499, but is now available for only AU$399. The Agora Netbook has a 1.6GHz processor, 1GB RAM, is based on the gOS operating system and weighs only 1.2kg.
The Agora Netbook PRO was AU$539, but is now available for only AU$439. The Agora Netbook PRO includes 2GB RAM, a Bluetooth module, and 6-cell battery. Both netbooks come with free software pre-loaded and can be purchased directly from www.kogan.com.au.
Kogan Technologies launched the Agora Netbook range in March this year, smashing the $500 barrier for the first time.
The Agora Netbook range is built on the gOS system, an open source platform which comes with many useful applications already installed and is easy to use.
"We are huge believers in cloud computing and open source software. The reasons are simple, open source software is usually faster, better and has more features,” said Ruslan Kogan, Founder of Kogan Technologies.
The reduction in price of the Agora Netbook range makes it a great time to buy. With Father’s Day coming up, an Agora Netbook could be the perfect present for Dad.
“At Kogan Technologies we want to offer the latest technology at the lowest possible price. We have established ourselves as a leader in this market and our buying power is increasing every day. Through our direct business model we can cut out the middle men and pass on these savings to our customers,” continued Kogan.
*The Agora Netbook is the first 10 inch netbook available in Australia for under $400 as of August 13th 2009.
