JMC Academy congratulates Country Music prodigy Michael Pye

JMC Academy today lauded the achievements of its country music sensation, Michael Pye, after he won the 2009 Aristocrat Young Entertainer of the Year Award at the National Country Music Muster.

The 21-year old won the coveted Young Entertainer of the Year Award and now travels to Canada to perform at the 2010 Merritt Mountain Festival in Merritt, British Columbia.

Michael, a student of JMCAcademy for the past two years, was also presented with aMaton EBG808 guitar with pearl inlay, worth almost $3,000.

“Michael also wins the honour of performing at West Tamworth Leagues Club during the 2010 Country Music Festival, and on the Main Stage during the 2010 Muster,” said JMC Academy Chief Executive George Markakis.

“His achievements are phenomenal considering his age. But if you listen to him and watch him perform, you understand why he’s winning these awards and becoming a successful young professional.

“Michael joined us under a scholarship two years ago, and has gone from strength to strength. Through his success, he’s expanded his experiences, had contact with more established artists, and learned a great deal.

“We’re very proud of Michael and proud that we have supported him – not only to help him become a successful performer, but a professional artist as well.”

Mr Markakis said the JMCAcademy is renowned for producing graduates who are not only skilled in their creative area of choice, but also commercially aware enough to earn a regular living.

“Michael joins many of our graduates who are now working globally on feature films, in recording studios, on music tours and in television production.

“JMC has a wonderful culture – our students learn from each other and are proud of each other’s achievements.

“We are looking forward to seeing Michael’s career progress, not only as a musician but as a professional, and we are thrilled to be able to help him shape his career as he moves forward”, Mr Markakis said.
