Network Appliance FAS900 Unified Storage Platform Awarded One of Storage Magazine's Best Storage Products of 2002

(NASDAQ: NTAP), a leading provider of enterprise network storage solutions, has announced its FAS900 Unified Storage Platform has been named one of Storage Magazine's best products of 2002. Cited for its "innovation, performance, ease of use and value", the filer enables enterprise corporations for the first time to manage data across both network-attached storage and storage area networks.
The first-annual awards, decided upon by a panel of preeminent editors from Storage Magazine and SearchStorage.com, represent what the judges deemed the "next step in evolution of current technology" and "products that break the mold and let you go where you've been unable to go."
For Network Appliance, the SearchStorage.com and Storage Magazine award is the latest accolade in a series of successes the company has achieved as it continues to challenge market barriers by introducing solutions tailored to meet customer needs for storage consolidation, data center operations, business continuance and distributed enterprise applications.
The FAS900 series establishes new performance, scalability and capacity thresholds for the storage industry and was designed from the ground up to handle today's compute- and data-intensive enterprise applications including database, data warehousing, collaborative and messaging environments. Depending on the software running on the FAS900 series, the platform supports a variety of storage topologies, including SAN and NAS, and is therefore the industry's first unified storage engine.
