Bridge Point signs first Check Point SSL VPN Blade customer in Australia

Brisbane, Australia, 20 September, 2010 – Bridge Point Communications, a specialist network, compliance and information security company, today announced it has signed claims management specialist, Gallagher Bassett, as the first upgraded Check Point SSL VPN Blade customer in Australia.
Gallagher Bassett Services Pty Ltd (www.gbtpa.com.au) is an Australian based claims management specialist with over 20 years of experience providing specialist risk and professional services to government departments, corporate businesses, insurance companies, underwriters and agencies.
Gallagher Bassett has a team of more than500 people and offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Auckland. The company looked to Bridge Point for a secure remote access solution to enable employees,contractors and partners to access its network. It wanted to leverage its existing investment in Check Point without high management overheads for remote access. It also required SMS-based authentication due to its simplicity and secure two-factor authentication.
Check Point SSL VPN Blade integrates into the firewall gateway enabling remote users to access corporate resources without a client licence and another device to manage. It provides both web-based and network-level access through the SSL encryption delivered in most internet browsers. Through an integrated web portal, employees, contractors and partners can access appropriate web applications, web-based resources, shared files and email.Steve Dunton, IS Infrastructure Manager, Gallagher Bassett said, “We have relied on Bridge Point’s expertise and advice for many years now.
