BitDefender appoints Charles Arizmendi as chief operations officer

Security solutions provider welcomes IT industry veteran from Microsoft
BUCHAREST, ROMANIA – November 3, 2010 – BitDefender, an award-winning provider of innovative internet security solutions, announced the appointment of Charles Arizmendi as chief operations officer. In this role, Arizmendi will accelerate the company’s strategic operations and global expansion while leading the global sales, marketing and customer care teams. He will report to BitDefender chief executive officer Florin Talpes, based in BitDefender’s head quarters in Romania.
Arizmendi brings more than 20 years of sales, marketing and operations experience to BitDefender. In his last position with Microsoft, Arizmendi led the channel sales and marketing teams for Central and Eastern Europe, as well as the Latin America regions; managing revenues of up to US $1.3 billion.
Arizmendi possesses a strong track record in developing innovative sales and marketing programs that were recognised for their success in increasing annual revenue growth whilst engaging with current customers. Most recently, he was responsible for growth in Microsoft’s software sales for Latin America’s mid-market, small business and consumer segments by more than 40 percent, as well as renewal rates of over 90 percent.
