Announcement posted by Cafe2U 18 Jan 2011

Australia's premier mobile coffee franchise brings in the experts and raises the standard even higher!

Cafe2U, Australia's largest mobile coffee van franchise, held its second National Leadership Conference over the weekend (14th - 16th January 2011) on Queensland's Gold Coast.  Franchise partners flew in from all over Australia to share new business ideas, new techniques and some unique coffee experiences!

Speakers at this year’s conference included Tim Martin from 2 Sticks Digital Marketing, who provided franchise partners with insights into the world of social media and how they could use these new tools in developing their business.  David McLean from Strive Training then worked closely with the group to develop new marketing initiatives for the year ahead, however the clear highlight of the conference was the coffee workshop, in which franchise partners were able to taste coffee from various origins as well as take part in an espresso master class.  The master class was conducted by current Australian Barista Champion, Scottie Callaghan, who wowed the group with his passion and dedication for espresso coffee, and finished by performing the routine that propelled him to 3rd place at the 2010 World Barista Championships in London.  "It was an amazing experience, and I am sure that the workshop and master class will  inspire many of our franchise partners to seek an even higher standard within their business" said Derek Black, Managing Director of Cafe2U, shortly  after the master class.

Later in the evening Cafe2U announced its 2010 Franchisee of the Year, won by Andrew and Mandy Lynch who own and operate the Kenwick - Maddington Franchise in Western Australia.  The Conference concluded with a gala dinner which was kept a mystery by Cafe2U staff until the very last minute.  The gala dinner was held at the water’s edge of Dolphin Cove at Sea World.  Franchise partners were entertained during dinner by their own private dolphin show,  which even included some lucky franchise partners who were given the opportunity to swim with the dolphins and be part of the show!

After the conference the Chairman of Cafe2U Australia, Mr Andy Simpkin said "Events like this provide a great opportunity for our franchise partners to develop their businesses by experiencing new things and networking with their peers; but for us the conference provides a way to thank them for their contribution to the success of the Cafe2U brand".
