Kaseya Appoints Dermot McCann As Managing Director For Australia and New Zealand

SYDNEY – March 7, 2011 — Kaseya, the leading global provider of automated enterprise IT service management software, today announced the appointment of Dermot McCann as Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand. In this role, he is tasked with planning and executing Kaseya’s business expansion across the managed services and enterprise markets in this region.

McCann has more than 15 years’ experience in the IT industry in Europe and Australasia. Prior to joining Kaseya, he worked for IBM Australia, where he had sole responsibility for client management in the media & entertainment sector. Earlier, McCann managed IBM’s Security business unit, Internet Security Systems, which was acquired by IBM in 2007. He also held a number of other senior positions in sales and management.

Commenting on the appointment, Martin Ashby, senior vice president APAC at Kaseya, said: “Dermot brings highly commendable experience, knowledge and understanding of the Australian and New Zealand market into his new role, which Kaseya will benefit from as we look to grow our market share in this region.”

He added: “We see particular growth opportunities and differentiation in the maturity of our cloud offerings and strategy. Not only do we enable IT management through the cloud, but we will also help our clients to implement, sell or manage third party cloud services with our new, tightly integrated, services billing solutions.”

Originally from Ireland, McCann moved to Australia in 1999 where he took on the position of CIO for Logicalis Australia, which was later acquired by IBM.  

He holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Brighton and a Masters of Business & Technology from the University of New South Wales.
