Announcement posted by Uniden Australia 27 Apr 2011

Uniden has presented the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) with a $55,000 donation, as retailers supported the company’s call for a cure this Mother’s Day.

NBCF CEO, Carole Renouf gratefully accepted the donation on behalf of the organisation.

“We are incredibly thankful for the generous donation made by Uniden and for their ongoing support of the NBCF. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Australia, with 1 in 9 expected to be diagnosed by the age of 85.

“Although the incidence of breast cancer is increasing, the good news is advancements in research mean survival rates are also on the rise. It is through donations such as Uniden’s which enable us to continue funding vital research into prevention and cure of breast cancer”, she said.

As part of its Mother’s Day promotion, Uniden donated $10 from the sale of every new ELITE 91XX Bluetooth Cordless phone to the cause. On making the donation, Managing Director of Uniden Australia, Kaz Yoshino said:

“Uniden is a passionate supporter of the National Breast Cancer Foundation and we are pleased that our contribution will help in the ongoing search for a cure for this devastating disease as well as fund early programs which assist with early detection and treatment.

“Our limited edition ELITE 91XX Bluetooth Cordless Phone series has been widely embraced by retailers across Australia, and we are confident it will be a stylish choice for consumers in the lead up to Mother’s Day,” Yoshino said.

The Uniden ELITE 91XX Bluetooth Cordless Phone series is available from department stores and leading electrical retailers. RRP from $159.95

Since 2007, Uniden has donated more than $150,000 to the NBCF.
