Buffalo releases new shock-resistant USB 3.0 portable hard drives

Exhibiting the smooth lines of a race car and the performance to boot, the latest additions to Buffalo’s MiniStation range of portable hard drives make swift data back-up and fast file sharing a reality.
The rugged design of Buffalo’s new ‘Minis’ harnesses a plate spring and patent-pending silicon shock dampeners, offering additional protection from accidental drops – one of the leading causes of data loss and device malfunction.
Beneath the glossy shock-resistant hood - available in ruby red, spada silver and indigo black - lies a powerful storage machine enabling maximum transfer speeds of up to 5 gigabytes per second, an impressive 10 times faster than USB 2.0 devices.
While USB 3.0 technology is ideal for creative professionals, computer power users and digital content creators who demand quick transfer and storage of high-resolution graphics, multimedia and photo files, increasingly home users who regularly download television programs and movies in full HD are realising its benefits.
Designed for portability, the new shock-resistant MiniStations come in two sizes - 500 gigabyte and 1.0 terabyte - with the smaller capacity model weighing just 175 grams and sporting a frame only 16 millimetres thick.
