2011 Banksia Transportation Award – Mindful Movement

Only in its second year, the Transportation Award focuses on an ever increasing issue in our community, “mindful movement”.

With our urban environment becoming more congested and distances vast, the quest to make transportation environmentally sustainable is vital if Australia is to be competitive in the global arena. It may even provide local businesses with a competitive edge.

The Banksia Transportation Award is presented to the entry that has been deemed by the judges to demonstrate leadership and innovation in reducing the impact of people and goods movement through leading approaches to transport technologies and management, advanced spatial planning and innovative transport and distribution system design.

It is important to acknowledge those who are making their mark, making Australia a world leader in the area of “mindful movement”.
