New Wireless-N router is the fastest Buffalo yet
July 7, 2011: Buffalo, a global leader in networking and storage solutions for home and small business, has launched its fastest Wireless-N router yet.
The AirStation Nfiniti Wireless-N High Power Router & Access Point WZR-HP-G450H is a versatile networking solution, ideal for home and small office environments. Offering wireless speeds of up to 450 Mbs* and five gigaports, it is perfect for streaming HD movies, music and emailing from multiple devices at the same time.
To eliminate dead spots around the home which can slow down or prevent wireless access, the WZR-HP-G450H delivers enhanced signal range and coverage. Equipped with a Triple 5dBi antenna and an onboard power amplifier, even those in larger multi-storey homes can enjoy reliable high speed internet access regardless of their proximity to the router. For even further range, the WZR-HP-G450H can be configured as an access point to create a wireless network on an existing network or two units can be used to create a dedicated, high-performance Wireless-N bridge or repeater.
According to Akihito Kondo, Buffalo’s Southeast Asia and Oceania Group Manager, this exceptional performance makes the WZR-HP-G450H ideal for the modern family home, where an increasing number of electronic devices compete for internet access and rich multimedia content is in high demand.
“With the booming popularity of smartphones and tablets, we now expect to be able to take the internet with us wherever we go - from the lounge to the kitchen and every room in between. Plus with the average Australian family home having more than one TV, a gaming console plus a PC and/or laptop, there are more devices than ever fighting to share a single internet connection.
“In addition, our growing appetite for rich multimedia content means not only do we want internet access in every corner of our homes, we need it to be fast and reliable to ensure our online experience is an enjoyable one. We designed our latest AirStation Nfiniti router with these aims in mind”, he said.
For a superior multimedia streaming experience, Buffalo’s QoS (Quality of Service) ensures that multimedia content such as music and movies receives priority handling on the network. Furthermore, the WZR-HP-G450H incorporates an in-built media server which can stream multimedia content to DLNA clients on the network such as HD televisions, digital media players and gaming consoles.
In addition to its streaming capabilities, the WZR-HP-G450H includes a USB port to attach a USB hard drive. This allows the router to provide simple NAS (Network Attached Storage) services on the network for easy file sharing across all connected devices. A VPN (Virtual Private Network) feature also allows for remote access to the network.
Enabling users to quickly and easily secure the high-speed wireless network, the WZR-HP-G450H offers support for AirStation One-Touch Secure System (AOSS™) and Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (WPS).

*450 Mbs is the maximum wireless signal rate derived from IEEE802.11n standard specifications. Actual data throughput and range will vary depending upon network conditions and environmental factors including volume of network traffic, building materials and construction, and network overhead. Maximum speed and range is achievable when used with the same enhanced mode technology.
