Compuware Teams Up With Nielsen for Customer Transition To the Gomez Platform

Announcement posted by Bass PR 11 Aug 2011

Clients Will Also Benefit from Compuware’s Mobile and Last Mile Testing Capabilities
Sydney, 11 August 2011 - Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR), the technology performance company, today announced an alliance with the global information and measurement company Nielsen for transitioning Nielsen dMeasure clients to Compuware’s industry leading Gomez platform. The agreement follows Nielsen’s strategic decision to decommission its dMeasure external website monitoring service over the next three months and to focus on driving further innovation and value in its core marketing and media information services.

“After rigorously evaluating providers of Application Performance Management (APM) services, we identified Compuware as a stand-out leader to whom we can confidently align and seamlessly transition our dMeasure client services in the knowledge that our standards of ongoing quality will be maintained.  Compuware is a solution provider of the highest calibre, has robust local support and a roadmap for sustained innovation in its Gomez platform which will be of immense benefit to clients,” said Peter Cornelius, Managing Director of Nielsen’s Australian Media business.

Nielsen clients will have the option to transition to Compuware’s Gomez platform (http://www.compuware.com/application-performance-management/), the industry’s leading solution for optimising the performance, availability and quality of web, non-web, mobile, streaming and cloud applications and is used by more than 4,000 customers globally including 12 of the top 20 most visited websites globally.

dMeasure has traditionally reported on the quality of web page delivery from a customer’s perspective and provides a reality check to any company that relies on the Internet for conducting business on how their customers are interacting with their online services.  In transitioning to Gomez, Nielsen’s dMeasure clients for the first time will have the option of testing for mobile site performance across Compuware’s extensive Last Mile network as well as device rendering across different operating systems and cloud load testing.

The Gomez platform now exceeds 150,000 last mile locations and 150 commercial-grade Internet backbone nodes and is the world’s most comprehensive performance testing and monitoring network. The virtual test bed includes more than 500 combinations of browsers and operating systems, and supports more than 5,000 mobile devices.

“We are pleased that Nielsen has chosen Compuware as the solution provider for its current dMeasure clients. Our Gomez platform is well positioned to continue to help these organisations deliver high quality web customer experiences and also to meet the growing need to deliver quality mobile and streaming experiences,” said Rafi Katanasho, Application Performance Management Director for Australia and New Zealand, Compuware.

During the course of the next few months, Nielsen account personnel will continue to work with dMeasure clients as they transition to Gomez and the Compuware support team thereby ensuring that existing service requirements are maintained.
