Announcement posted by Gartner 14 Sep 2011
Gartner today announced the program for its annual flagship conference in Australia, Symposium/ITxpo, to be held this year on the Gold Coast from 14 to 17 November 2011.
Gartner Symposium/ITxpo is Australia’s largest and most important annual gathering of CIOs and senior IT leaders. More than 1,500 CIOs, IT leaders, Gartner analysts and technology solution providers will gather at the Gold Coast Convention Centre to address hot topics including mobile, social, cloud and context-aware computing.
Two mastermind keynotes from industry leaders have been announced:
Mark Scott, Managing Director, Australian Broadcasting Corporation
Michael Harte, Chief Information Officer and Group Executive of Enterprise Services, Commonwealth Bank
Additional speakers will be confirmed during the next month.
“The rise of new technologies has given IT a seat at the strategy table — offering a new context for an organisation's infrastructure, investment, innovation and growth,” said John Roberts, vice president, distinguished analyst and conference chair for Symposium/ITxpo. “As a CIO and senior IT leader, your success depends on embracing new technologies — and knowing how to broaden the impact of IT's contribution to cost management, operational excellence, enterprise growth and competitive advantage.”
Gartner Symposium/ITxpo will be held over three days from Tuesday 15 November. Additional ‘industry perspectives’ sessions will be held on Monday 14 November, focusing on specific issues in the financial services, government, defence, higher education and energy and utilities sectors.
The conference and exhibition features eight role-based tracks, plus a special program just for CIOs, focusing on the issues, decisions and actions required for CIOs to be successful. The agenda includes more than 150 sessions, workshops, how-to clinics, roundtables and more. Delegates have the opportunity to book a one-on-one meeting with a Gartner expert to discuss their specific challenges.
Gartner Symposium/ITxpo is the industry's only event to deliver the insights, tools and relationships that executives need to create, validate and execute transformative business technology strategies. The combination of peer interaction and independent and objective content from the world's leading IT research and advisory organisation is one you can't find anywhere else. Delegates leave with personally relevant advice, stimulated thinking and an action plan for the year ahead.
