CEO of LivingSocial ANZ and Jump On It battles bullying in the workplace

CEO of LivingSocial Australia and New Zealand and Jump On It, Colin Fabig, has been announced as ambassador for the national Underdogs campaign to end bullying everywhere, including in the workplace.

The campaign, backed by a dozen well-known Australians, was launched in Sydney today by Education Minister Adrian Piccoli, Dancing with the Stars’ Haley Bracken, Footy Show presenter Mario Fenech and former MP Reba Meagher, all speaking out about the harmful effects of bullying.

“As an Underdogs campaign ambassador I will be taking the anti-bullying message with me into the boardroom and into the workplace, encouraging everyone to take a stand against bullying – even when it may not be the most popular thing to do,” Colin says.

Anti-bullying advocate and Underdogs founder Christian Marchegiani says, “By being more aware of the effects of bullying and where it occurs, we believe that more people will take notice when it happens and will have the confidence to stand up for not only themselves but others.”

LivingSocial and Jump On It foster a workplace culture of openness, Colin Fabig says: “If an employee feels they are being victimised by bullying they are encouraged to report this. Knowing that it can cause so much harm, including depression, anxiety and insecurity, we really want to protect our employees from this kind of behaviour.”

The campaign is taking the anti-bullying message to schools, workplaces and community organisations to help spread the word about the seriousness of bullying.

The campaign will be accompanied by a series of TV ads to be aired on Foxtel and Channel 9, featuring the campaign ambassadors David Liddiard (Indigenous Ambassador), Elen Levon (recording artist), Mario Fenech (The Footy Show), Brad Haddin (cricketer), Reba Meagher (former MP), Susan Pratley (netballer), Katia Taylor (Balls of Steel), Tahir Bilgic (comedian), Charlie Torr (schoolgirl) and Colin Fabig (CEO LivingSocial ANZ and Jump On It).

The campaign is funded by BLOW Communications as part of their philanthropic charity charter.
