Bowers & Wilkins have announced C5, the much anticipated, debut in-ear headphones from the makers of the award-winning Zeppelin Air iPod speaker.

“B&W’s Zeppelin Air and P5 headphones have been praised as market leading products by both consumers and critics; Now C5 promises to change the game for in-ear headphones,” said Geoff Matthews, CEO of Bowers & Wilkins distributor Convoy International.

“Expect to lose yourself in the flawless audio C5 produces; the sound will astound even the most discerning listeners,“ Matthews continued.

Bowers & Wilkins speakers and headphones have continually stood out as leaders in their category for quality and performance, with a reputation of providing best in class sound for over 45 years. Now for the first time, listeners can experience Bowers & Wilkins signature performance in an in-ear headphone.

Beautifully finished and designed to offer pristine sound quality on the move, C5 combines an open, natural performance with innovative design and high-quality materials for the customer who demands premium performance from their headphones.

The C5 features several key technological innovations and new materials that have never been seen in an in-ear headphone before.

Key among the advances is the Micro Porous Filter. Hundreds of microscopic steel balls act as a sonic diffuser, opening up the sound and enabling C5 to deliver a richer and more expansive performance than previously possible from in-ear headphones. It also has the advantage of limiting noise bleed, and together with the noise-isolating properties of the sealed fit, allows users to escape into the immaculate reproduction of their favourite music.

Almost as vital as performance in the in-ear headphone arena iscomfort and quality of fit. To this end Bowers & Wilkins have introduced a proprietary Secure Loop design, an ingenious innovation where a cushioned loop fixes quickly and comfortably in the inner ridge of the user’s ear. This holds C5 in place for improved sound, and also makes it ideal for use on the move and during activities. The Secure Loop is infinitely adjustable, so it works perfectly with anyone’s ears. C5 is also supplied with three different tips to ensure best fit and seal in all ear canals.

Adding to the overall comfort and functionality of the headphones is C5’s Tungsten Balanced design. The C5's inner casing is weighted with Tungsten, ensuring they are balanced towards the ear. This assists the in-ear headphones to stay securely inside the ear, and provides an improved seal for better sound and noise isolation. Elsewhere, the C5 is crafted from high-grade aluminium for a premium-quality, luxurious finish.

C5 has been designed specifically to work with Apple devices, and comes supplied with a ‘Made for iPod, iPhone, iPad’ remote and microphone. Audio playback will work with most devices that have a standard headphone output.

The remarkable new Bowers & Wilkins C5 will be available late September from selected Bowers & Wilkins specialist dealers, Apple, David Jones and Harvey Norman, with a RRP of AUD$249.
