Announcement posted by Gartner 23 Sep 2003
ONE hundred IT analysts will descend on Australia when the worlds leading technology research company, Gartner (NYSE: IT and ITB), holds its 11th annual Symposium/ITxpo from November 11-14.
The event the largest independent technology forum in Australia will feature presentations on next generation technologies and emerging best practices and management strategies across the IT spectrum.
"The ICT industry is about to rise from its three-year malaise," said Symposium chair Bob Hayward, an SVP and Research fellow at Gartner.
"The analyst presentations this year reflect a new reality - the pent-up demand to replace old technologies and embrace innovation is just around the corner."
Gartner analysts will for the first time introduce the concept of "Business Process Fusion" a new way to engineer IT systems to achieve real-time computing and create cost efficiencies through integration of software applications.
Symposium will also feature presentations on:
Top 10 Strategic Technologies for 2004;
Future of Windows in the Enterprise;
Enterprise Risk Management for Financial Services;
Return on IT Investment in Government;
Converging Wireless Technologies for the Enterprise;
New Technologies and What It Means for Security;
Emerging Technologies: Radar Screen for 2005-2014;
Plus much more
"More than 100 presentations, packed with information, will be given over the four days of Symposium," Mr Hayward said. "They will be insightful, opinionated and controversial."
"We have never attracted to Australia a stronger group of analysts from around the globe. They can help clients with advice not just on technology and management, but also market conditions for technology in countries across the Asia-Pacific."
Symposiums well-known One-on-Ones private, 30-minute sessions between an analyst and delegate - will continue to be a major drawcard for the conference.
Over2000 attendees are expected to converge on Gartners Symposium/ITxpo at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour, Sydney.
A landmark feature of the four-day conference will be ITxpo, recognised by the industry as Asia-Pacifics most powerful exhibition of new technology and products from the worlds leading IT companies.
"Symposium/ITxpo is a pivotal event in the Australian IT calendar," Mr Hayward said.
"It provides a unique opportunity to learn and understand the continuing innovations and best practices in the industry. For some of our delegates, this is the only IT event that they attend all year.
"Symposium also provides our delegates with an opportunity to network and learn from each other. Even with the Rugby World Cup in full swing, for the ICT industry, this is the best game in town."
