Melbourne, 2 March 2012 – Advanced Solutions International (ASI) is pleased to announce that Bianca Ousley has been named the winner of the Fundraising Institute of Australia (FIA) Young Fundraiser of the Year Award. Bianca was recognised for her exceptional fundraising work and industry involvement.
The Young Fundraiser of the Year Award, sponsored by ASI, was presented to Bianca by Paul Ramsbottom, managing director ASI Asia-Pacific during the President’s Dinner award ceremony at FIA’s 35th International Fundraising Conference on the Gold Coast last night. The Award brings with it national recognition and paid registration to attend FIA’s intensive fundraising educational program, Madison Down Under.
Bianca was awarded for her work at CareFlight Queensland, her dedicated involvement to the fundraising industry and her commendable personal volunteer activities.
FIA's National Awards for Excellence in Fundraising recognise the outstanding initiatives and innovative efforts of fundraisers, volunteers and organisations. The awards encourage the highest standard of professional practice and promote the role of fundraisers in making our society a better place to work and live.
During her time at CareFlight Queensland, Bianca redeveloped and launched a monthly giving program which exceeded annual targets by 25% and tripled the number of members across three years. She helped support a strategy that grew CareFlight Queensland’s direct mail program by over 55% in two years, including the introduction of a new ‘Top Donor’ approach which had an average donation of $355. Bianca also developed and launched a bequest program that raised $1million of future income for CareFlight Queensland.
The Young Fundraiser of the Year accolade was awarded to Bianca not only for her successful fundraising work but her active involvement in the industry. Over the last three years she has been instrumental in coordinating FIA professional development and networking events to Gold Coast based fundraisers who may not have been able to attend Brisbane functions. Bianca’s admirable personal volunteer work includes involvement in Big Brothers Big Sisters, 3 Peak Challenge, Camp Quality Queensland and Toastmasters International.
“I’m continually inspired by the passion and commitment of those working in the not-for-profit sector, and encouraged to see the incredible level of dedication from young people like Bianca,” said Paul Ramsbottom, managing director, ASI Asia-Pacific. “As a company that works exclusively with not-for-profit organisations, ASI is proud to sponsor the FIA Young Fundraiser of the Year Award and recognise and reward the future leaders of our sector.”
“Bianca has impressed the industry with her dedication from the beginning, having already received a scholarship from the ASI SMART Company Scholarship Fund in 2007. We congratulate Bianca on her award and wish her many years of fundraising success,” continued Ramsbottom.
“The National Awards for Excellence in Fundraising are an excellent opportunity to highlight the fantastic work done by so many and remain a highlight of the fundraising industry calendar each year,” said Rob Edwards, CEO, FIA. “We’re particularly pleased this year to recognise the achievements of our industry’s young people, and thank ASI for the sponsorship of this award and its continued support of the not-for-profit sector.”
