Local school welcomes new Acer computers

Sydney, Australia, 29 February 2011 - Cranbourne Secondary College has received delivery of fifty additional computers at no charge from Acer Computer Australia under its unique Privilege Program.

Valued at over $44,000, the Aspire A0573 notebooks will add to the school’s existing IT infrastructure of 1160 Acer Aspire notebooks under its one-one computer rollout.

George Massouris, Vice Principal, Cranbourne Secondary College said, “This is great news for our students who are now already experiencing the benefits of digital learning. The computers are being put to use in a variety of remarkable ways. For example, students using desktop PCs will have access to the laptops whilst on excursions and during extracurricular activities. Our aim is to ensure as many of our students are always connected and mobile.”

“The extra computers will also be installed in the library for 24/7 access and are available to all students.” Mr Massouris noted.

Acer’s National Education Sales Manager Derek Walker said the Privilege Program is our way of giving back to the school community.

“We’re very excited to be providing this opportunity to Cranbourne Secondary College. It’s also the first time one of our schools has achieved a redemption claim of this scale.”

“Technology is an integral part in learning, and our Privilege Program is committed to helping schools continue to learn, create and be better prepared for the work force.” Mr Walker said.
