New Boral slimline bricks expands creative options

Victorian home builders now have more choice in 50mm bricks with new colours available in three of Boral’s most popular ranges.

The new colours in contemporary Nuvo Fusion and the elegant Elan Gallery and Elan Signature brick collections, meet the trend for design-focused interior and exterior facades, entrances, formal areas and fireplaces.

The flatter, elongated bricks are also used for creating decorative effects, such as banding and corbelling in walls and pillars, giving a strongdesign edge to residential and commercial buildings.

Victorian-based design consultant Judy Dymond said: “At the present time, there is a strong direction in architecture for rectangular proportions which the 50mm high brick reinforces.

“By providing companion products across three brick ranges, there is an opportunity to deliver easy solutions. Architects can use different formats to create visual interest and enhance architectural styles, especially the trend for composite design.”

According to Boral Clay and Concrete Products national marketing manager, David Francis, “New home builders have more creative choices with 50mm bricks now complementing a wider choice of standard size bricks in matching colours and style.

“Home builders can really create a distinctive new look for their home as well as benefiting from all the positive aspects of using bricks, including strength, quietness and the energy efficiency benefits of high thermal mass,” he said.

The contemporary Boral Nuvo Fusion range, including bricks with an applied even colour and a lightly textured face, is now available in two slimline products - the popular Victorian Blue and the new black-hued Domino.

Featuring the natural shades of warm grey and brown, which are suitable for matching with timber, concrete and stone, Elan Signature now has three slimline colours including the new brown-toned Rattan. The Boral Elan Gallery 50mm offering includes new red-hued Morell to complement its wide assortment of colours from dark to light.

The new 50mm bricks will initially be offered in Victoria only.
