Announcement posted by A2K Technologies 13 Mar 2012

CSI Global Services will focus primarily on BIM

March 13, 2012. Sydney NSW - Australian based company AEC Systems; one of the largest Autodesk resellers in Asia Pacific today announced the restructure of the company’s unique consulting services division and formation of a new entity CSI Global Services.

The new CSI Global Services business will focus primarily on BIM (Building Information Modelling) process transformation and will assist businesses in adapting to change by partnering our people with your teams to develop and implement real solutions for your business needs.

“Autodesk has supported our decision to establish a new dedicated BIM consulting services business in order to assist their customers to further leverage Building Information Modelling-based technology and methodologies , “said Greg Gudgeon, CEO of CSI Global Services. “ The creation of the dedicated BIM consulting services business will enable us to aggressively pursue and achieve our vision through further innovation and expansion”

CSI Global Services provides BIM process transformation consulting, operational BIM management, BIM documenters, BIM modelers and BIM consulting and system integration services. The CSI Global Services vision is to provide government, owners, developers, builders, architects, engineers, fabricators and building industry project teams with a complete, accurate, digital view of their project, with access to information across the project lifecycle.

A study commissioned by the Australian Government’s Built Environment Industry Innovation Council found that Building Information Modelling (BIM) improves the productivity of the building sector significantly. The Australian Government Innovation Minister stated that BIM’s 3D building modelling technology helps builders and owners make the best financial and environmental management decisions over the life of a commercial building. Widespread adoption of BIM will result in cleaner, healthier buildings – both new and renovated – with improvements in material consumption, energy efficiency, carbon emissions and the productivity of occupants. On average, an owner could save up to 10 per cent on the cost of their building and significantly reduce the time to bring their building to market.

“Autodesk believes that the adoption and improvement of BIM processes is essential for the AEC industry to realize the full value of BIM,” said Andrew Anagnost, Senior Vice President, Industry Strategy and Marketing, Autodesk. “We support AEC Systems consulting division’s push to drive such process changes, and we see the creation of CSI Global Services as a dedicated BIM consultancy to be a positive step to help further assist our customers in extending the power of BIM and remove barriers to better business.”
