The event is being held on the evening of Saturday 5th of May and will be hosted by MC Terry Rogers and feature one of the Centre’s Ambassadors Tottie Goldsmith, local live band Heatwave and various other entertainment acts who will light up the stage.
The fundraising element of the night will feature some exciting and unique activities designed to provide guests with a fantastic, interactive experience while raising much-needed funds for the centre. The theme of the ball is the 90’s, the decade when Vanilla Ice was cool, Seinfeld was on our TV’s and Acceptance Finance was launched. It was also the decade when Olivia Newton-John went through and overcame her own personal journey with cancer.
“We chose the Olivia Newton-John Cancer & Wellness Centre as the charity of choice because it is such a desperately-needed concept that will touch the lives of so many people battling with cancer. It is a concept that I whole-heartedly believe in and to know we can play a small part in seeing the centre become a reality is so exciting,” says Joe Terlato, Director, Acceptance Finance.
“I first heard about the Centre in an interview between Olivia Newton-John and Jim Stynes on 3AW. I was so moved after the interview I thought we needed to do something with them and the concept of the ball began!” says Mr Terlato.
The Olivia Newton-John Cancer & Wellness Centre will cost $189 Million and they only have $6.5 Million left to raise from the community.
“The first stage of the Cancer & Wellness Centre, including radiation oncology, day oncology, outpatient clinics and wellness programs will open in July this year. The second stage with in-patient wards and research is scheduled to open middle of 2013,” says Sharon Hillman, Director of Fundraising at Austin Health.“We’re all looking forward to the Acceptance & Lonsdale Finance ball, it promises to be a terrific evening and will push us that little bit closer to building a world-class facility to help change the way we treat people with cancer,” says Ms Hillman.
Tickets for the ball are only $225 and on sale at: www.acceptancefinance.com.au/Charity_Ball_Home.php
