New Operations Manager for Portavin New Zealand

Peter Chipperfield has been appointed Operations Manager for Portavin New Zealand. Peter will be responsible for all aspects of the day to day running of this site, which is centrally located in the Auckland suburb of Penrose.

Peter joins Portavin from Pernod Ricard, where he was Packaging Manager at the Tamaki Bottling facility in Auckland.

Peter grew up in Auckland and graduated with honours from MasseyUniversity with a Bachelor of Technology, majoring in manufacturing.

He began in the wine industry in 1995 when he joined the International Bottling Company as purchasing and planning manager. It was here that Peter had his first informal wine education, thanks to a couple of colleague winemakers.

Seventeen years later, following a variety of management roles in the production and bottling of wine, Peter is firmly entrenched in the wine industry.

Speaking about his new role, Peter says “My role is to ensure Portavin NZ offers the highest quality wine bottling, technical and logistics services to meet the needs of customers. We treat clients’ wine as if it were our own and outstanding customer service is paramount to our offering.”

Portavin NZ was established in 2009 and is one of six locations for Portavin - Australasia’s largest independent wine services supplier.
