Image Design Technology Bolsters Team with New National Sales Manager
Sommerich brings to IDT over 20 years’ experience in sales and marketing roles working across some of Australia and New Zealand’s largest independent technology distributors. As National Sales Manager of IDT, Sommerich will lead a team dedicated to acquiring new business and developing a strong relationship with suppliers and customers. He will also implement a Certified Technology Specialist programme to ensure all IDT sales and technical support staff is equipped with the latest industry knowledge and resources to deliver AV solutions across the country.
According to Gerry Wilkins, Managing Director of IDT, Rod’s appointment is a major coup for the team as the business continues on the path of aggressive growth over the next three to five years.
“We’re ramping up for significant growth over the next few years and a huge component of that growth is ensuring we achieve a good balance in the different types of solutions we implement – and this is where Rod’s extensive knowledge in the AV and broadcast sector as well as his exceptional industry contacts will be key.

IDT currently has over 400 clients using a range of distributed brands including Avitech, Front Row, Calypso Systems, HaiVision, Jupiter Systems and Samsung. The new appointment comes off the back the opening of a new product training and demonstration office in Melbourne.
