Announcement posted by MITIGATE Seminar 03 May 2012

Globally renowned technology forecaster visits Australia, replaces missing book
BRISBANE, Queensland - MITIGATE Seminar, creators of Australia's first technology event for regular people, announced today that Sydney's most overdue library book - Daniel Burrus's Technotrends: How to Use Technology to Go Beyond Your Competition - will be replaced with a signed copy by the author himself, along with a signed copy of his new book Flash Foresight (New York Times and Wall Street Journal best-seller) for Sydney's enjoyment when he arrives in Australia for this year's six city tour spanning Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

MITIGATE Seminar Director Avi Lewin, "We were thrilled to learn today about Sydney's library amnesty program and that Daniel had taken the honour of being the city's most overdue author."

"We called Daniel in Wisconsin straight away to let him know that Australians think his books are so good they're worth losing their library lending privileges for." said Lewin.

Globally renowned technology forecaster and New York Times best-selling author Daniel Burrus, "All authors hope that their books will sell, but what we secretly wish for is that they'll be good enough for someone to want to steal."

"I was already really excited to be travelling to Australia to talk about how to turn rapid technology change from a risk into a competitive advantage. Now I'm hoping that Lord Mayor Clover Moore MP will take the stage with me at 9 AM on Wednesday the 29th of August at Australian Technology Park and receive a signed copy of my book Technotrends on Sydney's behalf, to replace the one that went missing for 17 years, 7 months, and 26 days." said Burrus.

MITIGATE Seminar 2012 is designed to help people understand the five biggest technology risks to Australian organisations today: Hackers, Fraud, Disasters, Change, and Return on Investment.

Daniel Burrus will be joined on the MITIGATE Seminar 2012 tour by a number of other renowned experts, including:

- Kevin Mitnick, the world’s most famous (former) computer hacker, and New York Times best-selling author.
- Jonathan E. Turner, former Chairman of the Board of Regents for the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and has recovered millions of dollars lost to fraud.
- Jack Phillips, Ph.D. ROI expert. Co-founder of the ROI Institute, creator of the ROI Methodology, and author and/or editor of more than 100 books on accountability, measurement, and evaluation.
