Willoughby City Council Selects BlinkMobile Interactive For its Ratepayer Mobilisation Strategy

Sydney, 9 May 2012 – Willoughby City Council has announced the selection of BlinkMobile Interactive to implement the first phase of its mobilisation strategy to enable ratepayers to access the council’s website and e-services across a range of multiple mobile devices.

Following the investigation of a number of vendors, Willoughby City Council selected the Blink Mobility Platform for its unique ability to repurpose content already on the web and reconfigure it for any mobile device, satisfying one of council’s most important criteria, to provide its ratepayers with easy access to council services and information.

Willoughby Mayor, Pat Reilly said, “We were very impressed with BlinkMobile Interactive and the ability and speed of its technology to support all endpoint devices. BlinkMobile’s investment in the continued innovation of its technology was also important. Moving forward, we’ll be able to update council’s online information in one place ensuring no extra work is incurred by our staff.”

BlinkMobile’s Sydney-based partner, EcoView Mobile, a technology and consulting services company, introduced Willoughby Council to BlinkMobile and the mobile service delivery platform, and has worked closely with the council to roll-out the technology.

Commenting further the Mayor said, “We are very committed to making it easier for our ratepayers to access information on services and facilities available in the area. The Blink Mobile Platform enables us to continually add on functionality as it becomes available.”

The Blink Mobility Platform provides enterprises with an effective deployment and management structure which can manage any data source and through one platform deliver many services to all devices quickly and reliably. Organisations which deploy the Blink Mobility Platform can expect a low cost, fast and agile service that focuses on user requirements and each user’s need to access interactive systems from a mobile device.

Darren Besgrove, Director, BlinkMobile Interactive stated, “We are excited that we are able to assist Willoughby City Council in providing mobile communication services to its ratepayers and look forward to assisting them in the future with their mobilisation strategy.”

Located 8.5km from the Sydney CBD, the Local Government Area of the City of Willoughby covers an area of 23 square kilometres. More than 63,000 people live within the Willoughby City area.
