Compuware Simplifies Network and Application Performance for Multi-tier Enterprise Applications

Announcement posted by Bass PR 16 May 2012

Compuware Corporation <http://www.compuware.com/>  (Nasdaq: CPWR), the technology performance company, today announced new innovations in its Data Center Real User Monitoring <http://www.compuware.com/application-performance-management/dynatrace-data-center-real-user-monitoring.html>  solution that converges application performance management (APM) <http://www.compuware.com/application-performance-management/>  and network performance management (NPM) to tackle the increasing challenges of complex data centres. The Compuware APM Spring 2012 Release <http://www.compuware.com/application-performance-management/apm-platform-spring-release-2012-overview.html>  introduces an integrated APM solution including network performance, multi-tier application transaction visibility and proactive synthetic monitoring.

By converging APM and NPM, mean-time-to-resolve (MTTR) is reduced, performance management costs are slashed and deployment is simplified. This release introduces new pricing and entry-level offerings that allow IT teams to easily start with a single application, then seamlessly and cost-effectively scale to enterprise-wide deployments.

Until now, IT organisations were forced to choose between complex deployments and incomplete views of application performance. Network-centric approaches to monitoring have traditionally lacked insight into the user experience and overall application performance <http://www.compuware.com/application-performance-management/> . Traditional application performance monitoring solutions have been unable to monitor and diagnose network performance issues.

“Compuware’s Spring Release <http://www.compuware.com/application-performance-management/apm-platform-spring-release-2012-overview.html>  highlights the significant interdependency of application performance on the underlying networked infrastructure and the corresponding enterprise need for a unified view of each in context of the other,” said Dennis Drogseth, Vice President at Enterprise Management Associates <http://www.enterprisemanagement.com/> .  “Historically IT organisations have been forced to compromise between a network-centric or application-focused approach to monitoring that limits the ability to rapidly find and fix performance issues. The Compuware APM Spring Release delivers a truly unified view of application performance, network analysis and business impact for multi-tier enterprise applications.”

Compuware APM Spring Release <http://www.compuware.com/application-performance-management/apm-platform-spring-release-2012-overview.html>  delivers a single solution to manage both application and network performance that includes:

     Out-of-the-box dashboards: provide a single view of application and network performance <http://www.compuware.com/application-performance-management/dynatrace-data-center-real-user-monitoring.html> :

     Integrated synthetic monitoring <http://www.compuware.com/application-performance-management/dynatrace-synthetic-monitoring.html> : delivers proactive monitoring for web and non-web applications;

     New pricing and entry-level offerings: enables single application and project-based deployments, with seamless extensibility into a comprehensive APM solution <http://www.compuware.com/application-performance-management/> ; and
