Melbourne, Australia–Online accounting software
solution Xero was named "Top Business Solution" as well as receiving
the highest industry accolade of "ICT Excellence Award" at the 2012
CeBIT.AUBusiness Awards in Sydney last night.
CeBIT Australia is the largest international computer expo in Asia Pacific and has become the platform for recognising achievement by ICT businesses. The exhibition is held each year and is considered a barometer of the state of the art in information technology and culminates in an awards ceremony to celebrate outstanding achievement.
The awards won recognise business excellence in the provision of a product or solution to customers with proven track record of success.
“We’re thrilled to have been honoured with CeBIT’s Top Business Solution and the coveted ICT Excellence Award," said Chris Ridd, managing director, Xero, Australia. “Xero has experienced phenomenal growth in Australia as more small businesses and their accountants embrace the cloud. These two awards are testament to the very real and growing demand for an alternative to spreadsheets and cumbersome accounting desktop packages in Australia.”
Gilad Greenbaum, Chief Technologist and CeBIT 2012 Curator attributed Xero’s successful nomination to their contribution to the cloud industry and the SME market in particular as being significant. “Over and above the great software that they have built themselves, I am also very impressed with the growing community of cloud ISVs that they are actively promoting within this sector. They are taking a leadership position by supporting many other innovative cloud startups and helping them to share in their success," Mr Greenbaum said.
