Michelle Bridges celebrates 250,000kg weight loss and Guinness World Record!

12 Week Body Transformation members smash world record

Impressive weight losses are common place for Australia’s best known personal trainer Michelle Bridges, but even Bridges was left speechless after learning that members of her 12 Week Body Transformation (12WBT) have lost a whopping 50,000kg in just 12 short weeks.

Michelle created the 12WBT program after being inundated with personal training requests following her success on The Biggest Loser. In just two short years participants have lost over 250,000kg and have taken back control of their weight and their lives.

The 12WBT uses a unique combination of online coaching, nutrition, mindset and exercise plans. Michelle’s authentic and no nonsense approach to health and exercise has catapulted the 12WBT into Australia’s top five online weight loss offerings, with the program recently being awardedwith a five star rating, outranking big players Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Lite n’ Easy and Tony Ferguson.

Last weekend 12WBT members flew to Melbourne from all over Australia and as far away as Brunei, to celebrate the success they have achieved by following the program. In true Bridges style, these men and women didn’t just hit the shops or head to the theatre, but instead showed just how far they have come and how much their health has improved by taking part in a history making group workout and breaking a Guinness World Record.

Bridges and 1165 of her 12WBT members smashed the existing Guinness World Record for the most people participating in circuit training at a single venue at the Catani Gardens.

Chris Sheedy, Guinness World Records Adjudicator said:“I’ve witnessed many great record breaking events around the world but this ranks in the top three. Few have been as successful or as full of smiling record breakers as this one. They’re hot, they’re happy, they’re healthy and now they’re record breaking heroes.”

Heidi Wilson, a 12WBT member who has lost 50kg following the program says: “Breaking the Guinness World Record really was the icing on the cake for me on what has been an amazing journey. I have gone from being a very unfit and unhealthy 125kg human being who could barely walk 100 metres, to someone who is living life to the full! Since joining the 12WBT I have done Tough Mudder and a 5km fun run. I have unlimited energy, love healthy food, can buy clothes from any shop I like and walk down the street with my head held high.”

As a reward for getting sweaty and breaking the world record, everyone treated themselves to some pampering, before jumping in their hummers, getting the red carpet treatment, letting their hair down and showing off their new figures at the glamorous Plaza Ballroom in Melbourne. To the delight of the 12WBT members they were able to rub shoulders with Michelle and The Biggest Loser winner Margie Cummins.

“The 12WBT has been a life changing experience both for me and the thousands of participants I have trained since launching the program, and I’ve got to say that it has been a massive couple of years”, says Bridges.

“Every round sees us strip thousands of kilograms off our members and this round has seen my members drop a massive 50,000kg alone! I cannot believe that in just two short years these guys have lost 250,00kg – that’s the weight of a 747!

“I am so proud of my 12WBT family - not only have they lost weight, transformed their lives and become the best version of themselves possible, but they have made history and smashed a world record as well,” says Michelle. “I can’t wait to get cracking and help even more people lose weight and do things they never thought possible this round!”
