Credit Union SA welcomes account switching reforms

Credit Union SA today welcomed the Federal Government account switching reforms that allows Australians to switch transaction accounts more easily.

The new "tick and flick" reforms will allow people to switch by simply authorising their new banking institution to transfer their direct debits and credits from their old bank.

Credit Union SA is anticipating public support from South Australians for the changes.

"These reforms mean less hassle for South Australian consumers looking for a better banking deal," Credit Union SA Chief Executive Officer Grant Strawbridge said.

"People are itching to switch and should consider our customer owned model, which offers better value and service."

The account switching changes aim to allow consumers to switch more easily, without having to be responsible for arranging the paperwork to do so.

For South Australians looking to switch, there's really three simple steps.

Simply choose Credit Union SA, a South Australian based customer owned banking institution, open a new transaction account and let your new mutual do the rest to get your account up and running.
