Canada Put Immigration Programs on Hold

A program designed to make it easier for non-Canadian skilled workers to find work in Canada is one of two immigration programs the federal government has put on hiatus.

Canadian Minister of Immigration Jason Kenney addressed the issue when speaking at the C.D. Howe immigration conference in late June, noting the Federal Skilled Worker Program and the Immigrant Investor Program were being put on hold for six months in early July.

“Effective next week we will be issuing a temporary pause on new applications for the federal skilled worker program,” Kenney said.
