ISD’s Jaguar Cameras Roar at Security 2012 Exhibition’s Product of the Year Awards

Performance on Hand’s patent-pending protective gloves and Pacific Communications’s TruWitness named runners-up

Security 2012 Exhibition (July 25 – 27, 2012, Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre) last night announced the winners of its prestigious New Product of the Year Award.

Innovative Security Designs (ISD) 1080P Jaguar, part of the company’s DVR (Digital Video Recorder)-free range of Jaguar IP cameras, secured the first prize. ISD’s security cameras address the high cost associated with traditional DVR systems with its EDGE technology, effectively cutting out labour and having technology on-board intelligent enough to report on human traffic in real-time without the aid of a technician. AFN Security is the exclusive distributor of the Jaguar series in Australia (stand J28).

The Guide C.P.N range of gloves, exclusively distributed by Performance on Hand (stand M12) in Australia, was recognised as runner up in the Product of the Year Award. Using patent pending technology, the gloves provide a unique level of protection against cuts, puncture and needles. They are ergonomically designed providing protection and flexibility, while being extremely comfortable to wear.

TruWitness, the industry-first mobile video application that turns Android smartphones into full-featured IP video surveillance cameras that stream video into DVTEL’s Latitude Video Management System, was named second runner up. TruWitness, exclusively distributed byPacific Communications (C6) in Australia, operates over WiFi, 3G/4G and LTE networks, providing operational teams with more mobility than ever before.

The awards criteria included innovation, originality, and whether the security industry can genuinely benefit from the product. Ease of integration into the current market place as well as likely uptake in the industry were the other factors taken into consideration.

“The number and quality of entries this year has been outstanding. Although the solutions and services at our Verint New Product Showcase are so diverse, they all have one thing in common – they solve real-world security challenges in an innovative way,” said Brett Judd, Exhibition Director of Security 2012 Exhibition.

“The judges selected the ISD 1080P Jaguar camera distributed by AFN Security because of its game-changing technology that lets security cameras police themselves, thus minimising cost and labour overhead associated with DVRs. ISD cameras, which are currently being beta-tested in a casino and campus environment in Australia, will no doubt make an impact in the CCTV market.”

The top ten new products shortlisted for the New Product Award, including the winner and the two runners-up, can be viewed at the Verint New Product Showcase in hall 3 at Security 2012 Exhibition. The exhibition is open until Friday, July 27, 2:30pm.
