Announcement posted by Bend-Tech Engineering 07 Aug 2012
Operating heavy vehicles comes with a certain amount of risk
regardless of the work site or situation. Yet, when underground mobile mining
equipment is used, safety can be an even bigger factor.
Most of the heavy machinery involved does contain on-board safety
features to help protect the operator. Yet, far too many loaders and scrapers
don’t come fitted with standard safety handrails to increase safety of the
operator getting into or out of the machine.
This type of equipment is generally larger than standard
construction equipment the heights involved in climbing into and out of a
machine cab are increased. Additionally, the stairwells added to these machines
sometimes provide little more than footholds for the operator to use.
For this reason, the expert team at Bend Tech have engineered
complete safety handrail packages to suit a range of front-end loaders and
scrapers. These are able to be purchased directly off the shelf in a variety of
designs to suit a wide range of models. This can include simple handrails
through to safety access handrails, but pre-designed handrails for specific
machinery can represent a significant cost saving.
All of the designs available are engineered to improve work site
safety for operators working on underground mobile mining equipment. The design
features also ensure that on-site installation should be relatively quick and
easy.
The highly experience in-house team of underground mine experts at
Bend Tech can also design and create individual safety handrail packages to
suit any individual application.
