Sydney Australia, 18 October 2012 – UltraServe, a local Australian leader in trusted cloud and managed hosting services, has been formally appointed to the Data Centre as a Service (DCaaS) Multi Use List (MUL), announced today by the Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO).

Hailed as a departure from historic procurement practice, the new streamlined process is designed to wholly simplify procurement of cloud and cloud-like services for Government agencies, as a result of pre-agreed arbitration and scope of procurements.

“This is very significant news for UltraServe, and our appointment to the MUL demonstrates our inherent and proven ability to meet a broad range of government agency needs in the cloud sphere. Further, UltraServe is wholly Australian owned and operated, so the data remains locally in Australia, offering a further critical layer of assurance to government agencies,” said Samuel Yeats, CEO of UltraServe.

“The news is also significant for government agencies wanting to migrate to the cloud, as we believe the DCaaS MUL will drive the acceleration of service levels to a standard service catalogue for those agencies wanting to take advantage of a pay-as-you-go (PAYG) approach and the flexibility of fixed monthly contracts. 

“This in itself will encourage more agencies to take advantage of the reduced capital and operational expenses that cloud offers, without compromising on scale of services or having to wait unduly for implementation,” said Samuel.

The DCaaS MUL is designed to provide Agencies with a simple way to procure Cloud and Cloud-Like Services under $80,000 for less than 12 months.  The three types of Cloud Services available through the MUL will include:

         Software as a Service (SaaS);

         Platform as a Service (PaaS); and

         Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)

“Our formal contract with AGIMO on this MUL commences 18th October 2012 and runs for two years.  Our first step will be to brief the relevant agencies on UltraServe’s capabilities and cost saving opportunities,” Samuel said.
