UltraServe Secures Contract in AGIMO’s Cloud Procurement Program

Sydney Australia, 14 November 2012 – UltraServe, a local Australian leader in trusted cloud and managed hosting services, announced today it has secured a contract through the Data Centre as a Service (DCaaS) Multi Use List (MUL). The Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO) announced the list of approved suppliers as recent as October 2012.

Hailed as a departure from historic procurement practice, the new streamlined process is designed to simplify procurement of cloud and cloud-like services for Government agencies as a result of pre-agreed arbitration and scope of procurements.

“The contract win is exciting news for UltraServe, and clearly demonstrates the promised efficiency of AGIMO’s DCaaS MUL process. Further, the awarding of contracts following on so quickly from AGIMO’s finalisation of the supplier list last month, reflects a committed intent and an inherent understanding by Government agencies of the benefits of the DCaaS MUL,” said Samuel Yeats, CEO of UltraServe.

Just as significant though is the rapid speed in which UltraServe provisions cloud-hosting services once contracts are awarded.   

“The agency required support for a new website they needed to launch and UltraServe was able to provision the hosting and security services within 24 hours of receiving the original confirmation of the contract,”  said Samuel.

“This is a fundamental shift in how government has been able to purchase technology infrastructure previously.  We are enabling agility and innovation for government agencies by delivering rapid infrastructure and services to support campaigns of any scale. 

“The original intent of the DCaaS MUL to drive acceleration of service levels to a standard service catalogue for those agencies wanting to take advantage of a pay-as-you-go (PAYG) approach and the flexibility of fixed monthly contracts, is now an exciting reality,” said Samuel.

The DCaaS MUL is designed to provide Agencies with a simple way to procure cloud and cloud-Like services under $80,000 for less than 12 months.  The three types of cloud services available through the MUL include:

         Software as a Service (SaaS);

         Platform as a Service (PaaS); and

         Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
