FREEVIEW’S ‘THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE’ CAMPAIGN SONG NOW ON GENERAL RELEASE

Announcement posted by Access Public Relations 20 Nov 2012

Fans of Freeview’s upbeat TV campaign will be delighted to learn that the distinctive and effervescent title song “The Best Things in Life Are Free” is now available on iTunes.

The high-energy studio performance of the 1920s classic song was recorded earlier this year by the Melbourne Ska Orchestra with vocalist Pat Powell, and has been a hit with TV audiences around Australia.

The Best Things in Life Are Free is the Melbourne Ska Orchestra’s first new single since it was recently signed to the ABC Music Four | Four label. The band will be releasing its first album in March next year.

“We have been really thrilled with the feedback from the TV campaign,” Freeview General Manager, Liz Ross, said.

“Since The Best Things in Life Are Free first went to air at the beginning of September we’ve received numerous enquiries from viewers wanting to buy or download the title song, so it’s great news that they can now find it on iTunes,” she said.

“This campaign is all about letting people know that Freeview offers a huge choice of top-quality viewing options, and it’s all free,” Ross added.

The new single is now available to buy on iTunes at https://itunes.apple.com/au/album/best-things-in-life-are-free/id578389219?i=578389330&uo=4

The Freeview TV campaign was created by respected advertising executives Ron Mather and Christine Barnes and their consultancy It’s The Thought That Counts.

The campaign, which is currently on high rotation across all Freeview networks, includes 60 sec and 15 sec generic versions, as well as four 30 sec genre-based TVCs, including sport, drama, entertainment and comedy.
