Tasmanian Bushfire Appeal Launched Through Mobile Giving App

Wednesday, January 9^th 2013: Leading telecommunications charity Telco Together Foundation and award winning mobile donations platform GiveEasy today launched a Tasmanian bushfire appeal, to raise money for affected communities through the Red Cross.

 In an Australian first, a mobile giving app is empowering people to donate quickly and securely, direct from their iPhone, iPad or other mobile device to provide immediate relief to communities in need.

Enabling technologies to expand giving in Australia is a guiding principle of Telco Together and the GiveEasy app clearly demonstrates how telecommunications technology can be used for social good.

The custom-built app is free to download, providing a simple and convenient way for anyone, anywhere to give directly through their mobile device.

There are no set-up fees or membership costs and all donations (via direct debit, credit card or workplace giving), are securely recorded and easily retrievable with receipts instantly emailed to the user once a donation is made.

All proceeds of this Tasmanian bushfire appeal will be going to the Red Cross to assist in their response to the disaster. Proceeds will help those who have lost their homes, as well as provide practical and emotional support for those who have been affected in Tasmania
