About Ananas Bar & Brasserie

A sophisticated and refreshing addition to Sydney’s bar and dining scene, Ananas is seducing Sydney with its contemporary take on French Mediterranean glamour with a pineapple twist.

In one of The Rocks’ most captivating landmark historic buildings, Ananas (which means ‘pineapple’ in more than 25 languages and has for centuries been a symbol of hospitality and abundance) is a modern cocktail and champagne bar complemented by the splendour of an art deco inspired brasserie and late night supper club.

The vision of hospitality entrepreneur John Szangolies, Ananas recalls Europe’s most celebrated venues with DJs spinning French Lifestyle House music each evening until late and a generous after hours bar and supper menu. This is somewhere for Sydney to come for a quick light lunch or to settle in to dine, drink and enjoy the unmistakeable sense of joie de vivre until the early hours.

The Ananas menu for both bar and brasserie is light, modern and produce-centric drawing inspiration from contemporary French brasseries.

A dedicated Oyster Bar, inlaid with crustacean tiles, delivers impeccably fresh shellfish shucked to order and a daily plateau fruits de mer. The full brasserie menu is complemented by a bar menu selection, available as supper until 3am for those wanting to make the most of the late license. Few Sydney venues offer such a complete late night dining experience, so night dwellers and theatre goers will love this très bon brasserie which is perfect for a late bite to eat or a nightcap.
