Dimension Data appoints new act state manager

Sydney, Australia – 12 February 2013 – Dimension Data, the ICT services and solutions provider, today announced the appointment of Steve Thompson as State Manager for the ACT.

Reporting directly to Chief Operating Officer, Ken Westwood, Thompson will take charge of the ACT business during a critical period of growth that has seen staff numbers double over the past 24 months in response to growing demand for services and solutions.

A Canberra local, Thompson comes to Dimension Data following ten years at SAP Australia & New Zealand where he was General Manager Federal Government and ANZ Defence. Under Thompson’s direction, SAP experienced an extended period of growth fostered by his ability to successfully manage and realise the value of effective partnerships. Prior to SAP, Thompson worked extensively within the ACT ICT industry, holding CEO and Country Manager positions with companies including Distributed Data Processing (DDP), Ericsson, Optus and Siebel.

Previously based at Brindabella Business Park for eight years, the new larger Majura Park premises accommodate Dimension Data’s growing staff numbers. The new premises contains the latest technology innovation and supports Dimension Data’s sustainability program.
