Mercedes-Benz at the forefront of Australian fashion

Key activations for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia announced

As principal partner, Mercedes-Benz will add luxury and style to the new look of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia at its new home at Carriageworks from 8-12 April 2013. In addition to the excitement on the runways, a host of must-attend Mercedes-Benz events and activations will take place throughout the event space.

The exclusive Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge will be returning to the scene as the essential part of every VIP‘s fashion week experience. Located next to Fresh at the Hub at Carriageworks, this year’s Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge will be an oasis from the high-energy pulse of the event, evoking the style of Mercedes-Benz in a luxurious setting, including a unique outdoor space, where guests can mingle with friends, colleagues and new contacts.

In The Hub, a unique space located in the Carriageworks lobby, Mercedes-Benz will recreate one of their most notable fashion campaigns to date – Mario Testino’s SS 2013 Intergalactic Desires, featuring international model, Joan Smalls. In a display that links the bold styling of Mercedes-Benz vehicles with the drama of the runway, Mercedes-Benz will pay homage to luxury and desire, recreating the secret storage facility from the campaign with a show stopping centrepiece as the object of desire - the coveted Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake.

For the second year Mercedes-Benz is proud to host the Mercedes-Benz Presents show as part of the official Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia schedule, with Easton Pearson the chosen designer for this prestigious title. With a recognisable aesthetic, each Easton Pearson collection reflects an experiential vision of colour, pattern and intricate detail, with hand-crafted finishes and innovative techniques – a design ethos shared with that of Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes-Benz Presents has seen designers such as Carolina Herrera, Derek Lam and Badgley Mischka in the United States, and in Australia for the first time last year with designer Johanna Johnson.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia is taking place at Carriageworks, Eveleigh from 8 – 12 April 2013.
