Mandurah real estate and development firm reveals how, and why the retirees called it “one of the best decisions we ever made together.”
Mandurah, WA, April 17, 2013 - Ron and Marilyn Bennett were like many couples approaching retirement. They owned an established home in Parkwood, and we’re considering moving into a retirement village. They had owned their Parkwood home for 17 years, and had spent the previous 26 years in St James. In all that time, they had never owned a new home; they had always chosen to purchase established homes.
The Bennetts knew that they were making a decision that would affect the rest of their lives, and did not go into it lightly. According to Marilyn, they spent two years researching the options available to them, and the choice came down to two options: moving into a retirement village or building their own home.
In Marilyn’s words, “We decided on building at Natures Walk Estate because it was much more affordable than living in a retirement village, and at the end of the day we owned the property we lived in. It is also a great lifestyle location.”
The couple also felt that the benefits of building their own home at the Natures Walk Estate far outweighed those of moving into a retirement community. According to Marilyn, “Both Ron and I have been delighted with our new home because we were able to design it so that it suited our lifestyle needs which include having additional room for our caravan.”
The Bennetts bought a 355 sqm block in Stage 4 of Natures Walk, and were able to build a very spacious 220 sqm home on the lot. According to Marilyn, “We both really enjoyed the process of building the new home, with Impressions Homes and land developers 4Land Property Group assisting us at every stage through the process.”
Natures Walk is located in a secluded part of Erskine, at the corner of Oakleigh Drive and Willoughbridge Crescent, with easy access to all of the nature attractions of the area. It is adjoining the Len Howard Reserve which is directly beside the Peel Inlet and it is only minutes from the beach and the heart of Mandurah and facilities such as the railway line to Perth.
According to Dave Gillon, Sales Manager at 4Land Property Group, sales at the Natures Walk Estate have been strong: “Within a very short period of time we expect to sell the last few remaining lots in this 91 lot estate.”
According to Gillon, “Astute property buyers can still lock in a house and land package at Natures Walk for as little as $320,572 which is fantastic value when they consider the median house price in Perth is now approaching $500,000. In particular, we have found very strong demand from mature property buyers at Natures Walk who are attracted to the Mandurah area because of its lifestyle attractions and the fact that homes are still relatively affordable.”
Gillon also noted that the Bennetts’ experience mirrors those of many in the community: “The Estate has proven to be very popular with retirees who want to move to a lifestyle development but still want the independence of owning their own property. In fact, this estate is so popular with retirees and downsizers that they have accounted for over 90% of past sales to date in the Estate so far.”
