Bibby Financial Services continues push in Queensland
Brisbane, April 24 2013
Leading global debtor finance specialist Bibby Financial Services hasshown it is serious about business development confirming the appointment of Amanda Bird as
Business Development Manager for the Queensland region. Based in Brisbane, Ms Bird will be
responsible for driving new business in Queensland and will report to Allan Howe, State Manager of
Queensland at Bibby Financial Services.
Gary Green, National Sales Director, Bibby Financial Services said, “Amanda has over 20 years
experience working in business development and finance roles, seven years of which was spent in
the debtor finance industry. The Queensland market is growing rapidly and represents 15 per cent
of total debtor factoring turnover, equivalent to A$62.9 billion in the 12 months to 30 December
2012.
“Our decision to strengthen our sales and operations team in Queensland is reflective of the
potential we see in this market. We have firm plans to expand our presence in Queensland over the
next 12 months and Amanda’s appointment will help build awareness of Bibby’s debtor finance
solutions. Our recent small business survey found over 80 per cent of small businesses Australiawide
are struggling with
cash flow, and it is imperative that businesses know that an alternativesolution, such as
debtor finance, exists.”Ms Bird joins Bibby from Oxford Funding, the specialist debtor finance division of Bendigo Bank,
where she worked as a Cash Flow Specialist for Queensland and Western Australia for seven
years. Before that, she worked for CIT Group, a US bank holding company, for over three years as
an Account Executive where she was responsible for building strong customer relationships and
achieving sales and profit targets through implementing business development strategies. Ms Bird
has been on the State committee for the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) since 2006.
Ms Bird commented, “I am excited to join Bibby Financial Services at a time when the demand for
debtor finance is on the rise. With an innate understanding of the financial challenges facing small
businesses, I look forward to working with Bibby’s experienced team in Queensland to educate and
build awareness of debtor finance as an alternative cash flow solution.
Ms Bird joins Bibby following several recent appointments to the sales and operations team in
Queensland including Sally Taylor as Client Manager, Queensland. Other key appointments for
Bibby include Mark Cleaver, as new Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand who
commenced this month; Brendan Green, State Manager, Business Development NSW and Rob
Lamers as Regional Sales Manager for the Southern Region.
“We are building a strong and reputable team in Australia to take advantage of the opportunities
ahead in the debtor finance market. This year we expect our Australian revenue will grow by 15 per
cent and we will increase our client numbers by 30 per cent,” said Mr Green.
