Bibby Financial Services continues push in Queensland

Brisbane, April 24 2013

Leading global debtor finance specialist Bibby Financial Services has

shown it is serious about business development confirming the appointment of Amanda Bird as

Business Development Manager for the Queensland region. Based in Brisbane, Ms Bird will be

responsible for driving new business in Queensland and will report to Allan Howe, State Manager of

Queensland at Bibby Financial Services.

Gary Green, National Sales Director, Bibby Financial Services said, “Amanda has over 20 years

experience working in business development and finance roles, seven years of which was spent in

the debtor finance industry. The Queensland market is growing rapidly and represents 15 per cent

of total debtor factoring turnover, equivalent to A$62.9 billion in the 12 months to 30 December

2012.

“Our decision to strengthen our sales and operations team in Queensland is reflective of the

potential we see in this market. We have firm plans to expand our presence in Queensland over the

next 12 months and Amanda’s appointment will help build awareness of Bibby’s debtor finance

solutions. Our recent small business survey found over 80 per cent of small businesses Australiawide

are struggling with

cash flow, and it is imperative that businesses know that an alternative

solution, such as

debtor finance, exists.”

Ms Bird joins Bibby from Oxford Funding, the specialist debtor finance division of Bendigo Bank,

where she worked as a Cash Flow Specialist for Queensland and Western Australia for seven

years. Before that, she worked for CIT Group, a US bank holding company, for over three years as

an Account Executive where she was responsible for building strong customer relationships and

achieving sales and profit targets through implementing business development strategies. Ms Bird

has been on the State committee for the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) since 2006.

Ms Bird commented, “I am excited to join Bibby Financial Services at a time when the demand for

debtor finance is on the rise. With an innate understanding of the financial challenges facing small

businesses, I look forward to working with Bibby’s experienced team in Queensland to educate and

build awareness of debtor finance as an alternative cash flow solution.

Ms Bird joins Bibby following several recent appointments to the sales and operations team in

Queensland including Sally Taylor as Client Manager, Queensland. Other key appointments for

Bibby include Mark Cleaver, as new Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand who

commenced this month; Brendan Green, State Manager, Business Development NSW and Rob

Lamers as Regional Sales Manager for the Southern Region.

“We are building a strong and reputable team in Australia to take advantage of the opportunities

ahead in the debtor finance market. This year we expect our Australian revenue will grow by 15 per

cent and we will increase our client numbers by 30 per cent,” said Mr Green.
