Acer first to offer complimentary one year Accidental Damage protection

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA (7 May, 2013) — Acer Australia is
offering free for a limited time a comprehensive one year Accidental Damage
insurance on all Notebook and Tablet product purchases. Customers can have
complete peace of mind knowing that in the event that their hardware needs
repair or replacement, they are fully protected.
"We want to show our customers that when they purchase an Acer product, they can rely on us to protect their investment.", said Neil Roberts, Technical Services Director, " By providing Accidental Damage insurance, we are not only standing behind our products but we are standing behind our customers as well."
Additionally, customers are able to purchase upgrades up to a total of 3 years total Accidental damage protection.
Acer believes this offering is a great point of differentiation for both our retailers and reseller channel. It not only means they will be able to better service their existing customers but also gives them a selling point that will attract new business to their stores. By providing complimentary Accidental Damage insurance, Acer is looking to strengthen its brand by providing its Retail and Channel partners with the best possible tools to generate sales growth.
Accidental Damage to a product may include, but not limited to, liquid spilled on or in a unit, drops, falls and other similar impacts, electrical surge, damaged or broken LCD or accidental breakage.
The bonus one year Accidental Damage Cover applies to Acer mobile products purchased between 8 May and 31st August, 2013. Accidental Damage coverage is being rolled out first in Australia with plans for a New Zealand launch at a later date.
